JERSEY TOURING CAR CHALLENGE

T1. CAR ELIGIBILITY AND CLASSIFICATION.

The Jersey Touring Car Challenge is open to the following classes of cars:

 
  TC1 SCCA Super Touring Over (STO)
    NASA Super Touring 1(ST1)
     
  TC2 SCCA Touring 1 (T1)
    NASA Super Touring 2 (ST2)
     
  TC3

SCCA Super Touring Under (STU)

    SCCA Touring 2 (T2)
    SCCA American Sedan (AS)
    NASA American Iron (AI)

 

a. All cars must completely comply with the preparation rules for their declared class. SCCA classes use the current GCR.

b. General preparation requirements for all cars:

1. All cars must compete on DOT tires.

2. All cars must display their correct minimum weight in a manner clearly legible to scrutineers.

c. Additional classifications:

1. 1984-1996 C4 Chevrolet Corvettes are added to SCCA Touring 1 (TC2) using their 2006 TCS specification line and a minimum weight of 3180 lbs.

 .

T2. DRIVER ELIGIBILITY.

The event is open to holders of all licenses eligible for regional competition in the current GCR including SCCA Novice Permit holders with their drivers school requirements completed. In addition, holders of licenses listed in GCR section 3.1.5.C. will be accepted on the same terms. Drivers must be SCCA members.

 

T3. RACE.

Starting positions for the Jersey Touring Car Challenge will be established by the fastest times in the qualifying session.

 

T4. PRIZE FUND.

There will be a prize fund paid to the leaders in each class of the Jersey Touring Car Challenge. The purse for each class will consist of $100 for each car entered in the class. The percentage distribution of the prize money will be based on the number of entrants in the class and paid according to the following schedule:

Example: If there are nine cars entered in TC3, the total purse for the class will be $900 (9 x $100) and the TC3 winner will receive $360 (40% of $900).

 

T5. ADMINISTRATION. The Jersey Touring Car Challenge will be managed and administered by the Jersey Racing Board.

a. The JRB will appoint a Series Steward.

b. The JRB and the Series Steward may deviate from the rules for circumstances beyond their control or when in the best interest of the series. Such circumstances include, but may not be limited to: scheduling events, entry fees, duration of events, correction of results and sponsorship requirements.

c. All decisions of the Jersey Racing Board are final and not protestable.
