Drivers School (Fri PM to Sun) - Competition school is
what you do if you want to eventually compete. You need a Novice Permit to enter the school as well as a physical. You need a racecar for this and all the safety equipment. If your goal is to
compete in road racing this is where you start. This takes a SCCA license. This school is a step in getting your SCCA license.
Student Syllabus
Instructor Duties
PDX (level 1) (Saturday) - Performance Driving eXperience.
This is a drivers school. It is not competition and does not lead to competition. As a novice you will have an instructor in car with you. All you need is a proper helmet and your car
must pass a tech inspection. There is track time and classroom time. There are no car classes, rather drivers are sorted into novice, intermediate, advanced and instructor run groups. No
roll cage/bar required. For many folks this is all you do if you never intend to compete.
Tech Sheet
Time Trial (level 2) (Sunday) - this is a competition. Not wheel to wheel but rather you against the clock, fast guy wins. Just a few cars on the track at a time.
We run the on the same track. The day is broken into time slots. One time slot may have a
drivers school race, another may have a Novice PDX group, etc.... |
